If you’re like most people, you probably use Windows 7 to run your day-to-day tasks. But sometimes you need to update your software or fix a bug, and there’s no way to do it without having to go through the hassle of installing an update manually. Here’s how to hide an update in Windows 7 so that you don’t have to:
- Open the Start menu and type “cmd” (without the quotes) into the search bar.
- Type “update” into the command prompt and hit enter.
- The update will start installing automatically, and you’ll be able to access it from the “Update & Security” icon on the left side of your screen. If everything goes according to plan, you’ll eventually be prompted for a password when it’s time to install the final update. Keep in mind that if you don’t have a password for your computer, someone else may be able to gain access and install the wrong update - so make sure you’re always safe by storing your password somewhere safe!
